Join the Mission
Are you ready to follow in Ethan Hunt’s footsteps? In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, some of the world’s most dramatic action scenes unfold against the landscapes of Romsdalen.
The film takes you from narrow mountain valleys and historic railway lines to bridges, waterfalls and towering rock faces. Many of these landmarks can be experienced on The Golden Train, a scenic journey along the Rauma Railway through the heart of Romsdalen.
As the train travels between Åndalsnes and Bjorli, the landscape changes constantly outside the window. Look out for the same dramatic scenery that made Romsdalen such a memorable setting for the film, including Kylling Bridge, the Rauma River and Troll Wall.
Kylling Bridge
Kylling Bridge is one of the most recognisable landmarks along the Rauma Railway. The stone railway bridge spans the valley above the Rauma River, surrounded by steep mountains and rugged Norwegian scenery.
You may recognise it from the dramatic chase sequence in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, when Ethan Hunt rides his motorcycle over and under the bridge and through the surrounding canyon.
The bridge is included among the landmarks experienced on The Golden Train Roundtrip. As the train approaches Kylling Bridge, keep your camera ready and listen to the stories that bring the railway, the landscape and the film locations to life.

Troll Wall
Rising above the Romsdalen valley, Troll Wall—known locally as Trollveggen—is one of the most distinctive rock faces in the region. Its vertical cliffs and jagged mountain profile create a dramatic backdrop that feels perfectly suited to an action film.
You can experience the scale of the mountain from your seat on The Golden Train. The journey follows the Rauma Railway through the valley, with views of Troll Wall and other landmarks along the route. The train’s storytelling adds context to the landscape, making the journey about more than simply travelling from one station to another.
For visitors who want to see Romsdalen from both the valley and the mountains, The Golden Train & Cable Car Ticket combines the railway journey with a ride on Romsdalsgondolen to Nesaksla.
Ready for Your Next Adventure?
Romsdalen’s film locations are worth exploring long after the credits have rolled.
Follow the railway through the valley, look up at the cliffs of Troll Wall and pause at the landmarks that helped turn Romsdalen into Trollywood.
To experience the landscape from two different perspectives, book The Golden Train & Cable Car Ticket. After travelling through the valley by train, the Romsdalsgondolen takes you up to Nesaksla, where you can look across the mountains, fjord and valley from above.
You can also continue your adventure on foot. From Nesaksla, the route towards Rampestreken offers another way to experience the mountains above Åndalsnes. For a longer hiking experience, explore Romsdalseggen, which connects naturally with Romsdalsgondolen at the end of the route.
Your mission is simple: follow the film locations, explore the real landscape and discover which parts of Romsdalen make the greatest impression on you.
